The effluent from Emmen’s rwzi complies with the discharge standards and the requirements which are set for the quality of surface water. As an extra buffer, there is a pipeline to the Hoogeveense Vaart in case too little or no purified sewage water is available. Drinking-water can also be supplied under certain circumstances.
